Desde este miércoles por órdenes de la Dirección General de Aduanas (DGA) queda prohibida la importación de ropa usada a través de los puertos dominicanos. Según lo denunció ayer la Asociación de Mudanceros, Aduanas habría enviado una circular a sus colectores para que se incauten de las ropas usadas que llegan en cajas y tanques, de los denominados “shipping”.
Juan Morfa vicepresidente de la Asociación, se quejó de que “la medida se tomó de manera unilateral y afecta a más de dos millones de dominicanos que viven en el exterior y envían ropas de medio uso a sus familiares en el país”.
Consideró que la ropa que traen al país a través de los tanques no entra en el rango de aplicación de la Ley 458-73, que prohíbe la entrada de ropa usada, ya que la legislación se refiere sólo a la ropa para uso comercial como las pacas y donaciones, no las que envían a familiares.
“Lo que nosotros traemos es ropa que la gente se la manda a sus familiares y no siempre puede comprar ropa nueva, por eso mucha es usada”, explica Morfa, y sostiene que en la actualidad, los mudanceros tienen en puerto unas 300 contenedores con cajas y tanques que contienen piezas usadas.
Indicó que esperan reunirse con las autoridades aduaneras para llegar a algún acuerdo en ese sentido, así como para que le expliquen, el por qué se les quiere aplicar ahora una legislación que tiene tantos años aprobada.
DL intentó tener una respuesta desde la DGA, pero sólo se informó escuetamente que la prohibición aplicaba para toda la ropa que entra por puertos que sea usada, sin más detalles.
